Donetsk, Jul 16 - DAN. The number of holiday-makers on the beaches of the Sedovo resort, the largest in the Donetsk People’s Republic , has increased compared with last year thanks to the authorities’ landscaping efforts, Novoazovsky district administration head Oleg Morgun told the Donetsk News Agency.
“As of today, I cannot say cite the precise number of holiday makers who have visited Sedovo since the beginning of summer; we’ll have statistics by the end of the season,” Morgun said. “I can only say that it has increased since last year. We have visitors from the DPR, the LPR and Kiev-held areas of Donbass, as well as from the Russian Federation.”
The inflow of holiday-makers grew thanks to an increase in the Sedovo checkpoint throughput capacity, achieved by increasing its staff, as well as street repairs, waste disposal improvements, constant price monitoring by local authorities and keeping the rent at last year level.
“The holiday hotels are currently overcrowded, though we opened another guest house and two campsites,” the district head said.
The Donetsk News Agency monitoring confirmed a powerful influx of holiday makers. Tourists of all age groups come to Sedovo with their families every day; water rides, boat trips etc and other entertainments are available. Local beaches are overcrowded.
Lovers of sport can play beach volleyball and football. Amusements are offered to children.
The beaches are all cleaned up; there is no litter in the streets and road repairs have been carried out in and around Sedovo. Many new “Donbass” coaches make runs to and from the resort.
“This year, we received a garbage truck which has considerably improved the situation. More than 2,000 cubic metres of garbage have been removed since the beginning of the swimming season,” Morgun said. “We’re expecting two more such trucks, so the waste disposal situation will become even better next year.”
Holiday-makers’ safety is secured by DPR Emergency Ministry boats which are on duty along the coastline.
Located on the coast of the Sea of Azov, the resort settlement of Sedovo provided accommodation and services to more than 60,000 holiday makers from the DPR, the LPR and Russia during the swimming season 2018. DPR Head Denis Pushilin ordered to give priority to the spa zone landscaping ahead of this year’s holiday season.*jk
