Donetsk, Jan 12 - DAN. Donetsk’s Kalinin District police detained a 44-year-old woman on suspicion of keeping an F-1 fragmentation hand grenade, the Donetsk People’s Republic Interior Ministry press service reported on Tuesday.
“Police stopped a woman in Donetsk’s Kalinin District for identity check; she lacked her ID and was brought to the police department for identification. A search found an F-1 grenade and a fuse on her,” the report said.
The woman said that she had “found the grenade next to the district railway bridge crossing and that she had kept it on her not knowing what to do with it,” police said.
Criminal proceedings were opened under DPR Criminal Code Article 256, Part 1 (acquisition, passing, sale or keeping of firearms, their parts or ammunition) which envisions a penalty of up to four years in prison and a fine up to 80,000 rubles. The suspect has been released on the pledge not to leave the city.*jk
