Donetsk, Jul 30 - DAN. A family of resettles whose house was occupied by Ukrainian gunmen in the Metallist township, was given keys to an apartment in Gorlovka on Thursday, the Town Hall press service reported.

“Today, a happy event occurred to the Shapovalov family,” the press service said. “Pursuant to DPR Head Denis Pushilin’s order on implementing measures towards restoring municipal housing for subsequent distribution among certain groups who suffered from fighting, the keys to an apartment in temporary public housing were given to a family, at Gorlovka administration head Ivan Prikhodko’s order.”

Alexander and Olga Shapovalov and their son Vitaly lived in Metallist outside Gorlovka which was under Ukraine’s control at the time. The family fled the fighting moving to another place. Olga Shapovalova said that their house was currently occupied by Ukrainian servicemen.

“I’m thankful to the head of the Republic and town administration for receiving us and giving this apartment to our family; we’ll surely be able to cope with all problems henceforth,” the Town Hall press service quoted her as saying.

The apartment was renovated; it has esstential furniture and appliances. The key giving ceremony was attended by Gorlovka mayor deputy heads Pavel Kalinichenko and Igor Gorbatov and Gorlovka Central Town District administration head Anna Stavitskaya.

Ukrainian armed formations seized the Gladosovo and Metallist (Travnevoye) settlements in the “grey zone” in the autumn of 2017. They deployed mortars to these settlements and planted mines in adjacent areas.*jk*pp
