Donetsk, Aug 12 – DAN. Russian humanitarian convoys delivered more than 45 thousand tons of aid to Donbass since 2014, the Republican Ministry of Emergencies said.

"Russian humanitarian convoys have been arriving to the DPR since 2014, overall 97 convoys arrived bringing along 45 thousand tons of aid," the statement reads.

The humanitarian aid included food, baby formula, medications and medical equipment, construction material and technological equipment, seeds stocks, stationery, clothes, shoes, household chemicals, school books and presents.

More than 1,400,000 families with children under three years old received food supplies, while hospitals were provided with more than 2,000 tons of medications and medical equipment.

"We express our deep gratitude to the Russian Federation for the invaluable assistance it provided for the DPR," the Ministry said.

Six years ago, on August 12, 2014, first humanitarian convoy arrived to Donbass; 280 trucks travelled from Naro-Fominsk in the Moscow region to the south-western stretch of the state border bringing food and essentials to the Donbass Republics. *ot
