Donetsk, Jul 18 - DAN. Donetsk National University has become the fourth higher education centre in the Donetsk People’s Republic to receive a certificate of accreditation from the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science, the DPR Education and Science Ministry reported on Thursday.

“Under Order No 103 of the Federal Service for Supervision of Education and Science, dated July 17, 2019, Donetsk National University (DonNU) is certified as accredited,” the report said.

The accreditation targeted the University’s degree programmes in eight fields such as mathematics, applied mathematics and informatics, computer science and hardware, pedagogical education, professional education (field-specific), environmental protection, use of natural resources, biology and chemistry.

DonNU confirmed that the quality of training it provided met federal state education standards, the press service said.

Successful accreditation will enable DonNU to award Russian-style state diplomas to graduates which will contribute to the DPR’s integration in Russian education and research space.

M.Gorky Donetsk Medical University was accredited in Russia last autumn. In June 2019, Donbass National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture and Tugan-Baranovsky Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade met the Russian requirements for education programmes.*jk
