Donetsk, Dec 10 – DAN. DPR sanitary-epidemic service has reinforced monitoring of tap water after complaints from residents that it smells bad, the Ministry of Health said.
"In relation to complaints of medicine-like water odour, the Ministry of Health informs of detection of an intense smell of water pumped to water treatment plants in the DPR. Despite the fact that ammonium level does not exceed peak seasonal figures drawn on the basis of multi-year monitoring, the sanitary-epidemic service has reinforced tap water monitoring in waterway networks and are recording all the incoming complaints of odours," the report reads.
Earlier, the head of the water supply and sewage department of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services said that the disturbing smell was due to unusually warm weather, the water itself meets all state sanitary norms. *ot
