Donetsk, Nov 22 - DAN. The State Ecological Policy and Natural Resources Committee under the Donetsk People’s Republic Head plans to create two landscape and recreation parks and three nature conservation areas, the Committee’s press service said on Thursday.

“Specialists are drawing documents for the projects to create two landscape and recreation parks and three protected nature conservation areas in the Republic’s Territory,” the press service said.

The Olkhovatskiy park will include Donbass historical and industrial heritage sites such as the 13th century church in the Ilyinka village and the closed coalmine area accommodating an Old Believers community.

The Razdolnenskiy park will be set up in the territory of the former geological preserve bearing the same name. It accommodates an old Greek settlement, early man sites (of the Late Stone, Age, Bronze Age and Middle Ages), burial mounds, nature landmarks and endemic plant species. At present, committee specialists are gathering materials, arguments and facts for a feasibility study.

The Committee also plans to give the conservation area status to the Kazennaya gully in the Amvrosiyevskiy district, the Panskiy Garden nature landmark at a bend of the Olkhovaya river and the Starolaspinskaya Rock on the left bank of the Kalmius river.

Plans are in place to make these areas weekend tourist destinations and promote eco and educational tourism in the DPR.*jk
