Donetsk, Apr 10 – DAN. DPR representatives in Minsk humanitarian subgroup are going to raise the issue of Republican experts unrestricted access to Donetsk water treatment plant (DFS) at the meeting scheduled for April 12, said DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova.
"Ecological control is an important tool of securing human rights. At the meeting on April 12 I will once again raise the issue of ecological situation in our region, and of unrestricted access to DFS for our experts".
She reminded that the vicinity of DFS has been coming under intense fire for some time now. The OSCE monitors have registered artillery rounds hitting chlorine reservoir.
"I want to emphasize that chlorine is a highly hazardous substance. If a reservoir containing about one ton is destroyed it kills everything alive within five-km radius zone," Morozova said.
Donetsk water treatment plant, located between Yasinovataya and Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka has long been a trouble spot on the contact line in Donbass. It supplies water to both sides of the contact line, DPR-controlled Donetsk and Yasinovataya and Vasilyevka and Spartak villages, and Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and Verkhnetoretskoye village. DFS often comes under Ukrainian forces fire. *ot
