Donetsk, Oct 9 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic will develop a simple and transparent tax system, acting Tax and Revenue Minister Yevgeniy Lavrenov said in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.
“Acting DPR Head Denis Pushilin tasked us with overhauling the Republic’s tax system,” Lavrenov said. “It will be built upon the principles of simplicity and transparency.”
“In the first place, it will create a safe investment climate and stability,” he said.
Earlier the official said that the Ministry planned to form a balanced tax system for the branches of the national economy and companies of different forms of ownership, simplify business rules and create a fair competitive environment.
Lavrenov was appointed acting Tax and Revenue Minister by Pushilin's decree on September 7.
A probe was launched into the work of former Tax and Revenue Minister Alexander Timofeyev and his colleagues following numerous complaints. The DPR set up an interdepartmental commission for investigating the activities of former Tax and Revenue Ministry officials and an interim parliamentary commission to look for facts of damage caused by tax officials to natural persons and legal entities.*jk
