Donetsk, Oct 21 – DAN. Ukrainian parliamentarians visited Donbass solely to improve the rating of their party before the local elections scheduled for October 25, said the Chairman of the DPR People's Council of the DPR Vladimir Bidyovka.
Nearly 100 deputies from the Servant of the People party went on a working trip to the conflict zone. They are supposed to visit the front line, meet with servicemen and residents of the front-line areas. The "servants of the people" will spend two days in Donbass.
“First of all, you need to answer the question "Why do potential candidates come to Donbass, where people were deprived of the right to vote, even in the territories temporarily controlled by Ukraine?” It's simple: there is less and less time before the election, and the so-called "servants of the people" were sent to the front line to slightly raise the rating. Obviously, these "chosen ones" consider the trip as nothing more than a reality show. I have no doubt that they are doing this solely to make their names appear in pess, ”Bidyovka said.
He added that the parliamentary tour does not look like a visit of people who want change. Therefore, the DPR does not expect a positive result from this venture.
Ukraine will elect local councils on October 25, as well as community leaders. According to a number of opinion polls, only 17.2% of voters intend to support candidates from the pro-presidential party. Viktor Medvedchuk's Opposition Platform for Life party ranks second, and Petr Poroshenko's European Solidarity runs third. Residents of the DPR, LPR and a number of Donbass cities controlled by Kiev will not participate in the election. *ot
