Donetsk, Mar 23 – DAN. The DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs has welcomed the decision of the Russian Government to lift travel ban for DPR and LPR residents.
"The DPR Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomes this important humanitarian decision of the Russian Government that enabled our citizens who have not yet obtained Russian passports to enter Russia," the statement reads.
The Ministry pointed out to the fact that people returning from third countries through Russia can refer to the abovementioned decision and the decision dated March 20, 2020 No.685-R as legal ground to cross the Russian state border.
Russian government has lifted travel ban for LPR and DPR residents, the document published at the Russian official website for legal information says.
"Due to the economic and transport blockade imposed by Ukraine on certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, guided by the principles of humanity, provisions of paragraph 1 (on the decree to introduce travel ban) are not applied to the citizens of Ukraine and stateless persons who are permanently residing in the certain areas of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions," the document reads.
Registration in the LPR or DPR territory in a Ukrainian or Republican passport is required to enter Russia.*ot
