Donetsk, Aug 16 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic parliament will consider a bill on adaptation physical culture which provides for setting up sport rehabilitation centres for disabled people, chairman of the parliament committee on youth, physical culture, sport and tourism Yuriy Sivokonenko told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“The groups needing social adaptation include not only the people with locomotor disability, but also those who have vision and hearing impairments. This legislation envisions social assistance and adaptation for these groups. I’m hoping that it will come into operation shortly,” Sivokonenko said.
The document sets groundwork for establishing rehabilitation sport centres across the republic and training methodologists, coachers, teachers and medics to work with disabled people, he added.
“The number of such people is regrettably increasing because of the ongoing war; so it’s an important law,” Sivokonenko said.
The legislation was drawn together with the DPR Youth, Sports and Tourism Ministry and DPR universities.
Earlier, a proposal was brought forward to create jobs at DPR companies for people with disabilities.*jk
