Donetsk, Jun 28 – DAN. The Finale of DPR Para Championship for sportsmen with muscle-skeleton disorders took place in Donetsk at Kirovets Sport Center.
Almost 500 people came to support 72 sportsmen who competed in chess, checkers, darts, 60m sprint, long jump, press-up, arm-wrestling, 400m wheelchair race.
A number of officials were present, among them the minister of sport and tourism Mikhail Mishin, the minister of education and science Larisa Polyakova, DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin, acting Donetsk administration head Aleksey Kulemzin, etc.
Sportsmen were divided into six teams who competed in a number of events to gain scores which will be used to define winners later in the day.
"It is a challenging thing to compete here, but I'm glad that authorities pay attention to such sport events, it is so nice to see spectaculars, so many of them," said a participant of the competitions Andrey Bilous.
The qualifications took place across DPR from May to mid-June. *ot
