Donetsk, Mar 13 – DAN. DPR found about 120 missing people during the last year, said DPR Ombudswoman Daria Morozova.
"Our work resulted in finding 120 missing people in 2016. Of course, some of them were dead," she said.
Morozova reminded that DPR authorities collaborate with the ICRC in finding missing people, but also work independently.
"Even we pick up experience of the ICRC. They teach us and guide us. If we establish a DNA database as they suggest, and they are ready to take it up, the number of missing persons will be down both here in in Ukraine."
Morozova said Ukraine was protracting the process by "not accepting the responsibility". "At the moment the lifeboat we have is the ICRC," she maintained.
According to the updated database of the Ombudswoman office, 468 residents of DPR are currently missing. *ot
