Donetsk, Jan 24 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman Darya Morozova met with head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission in Ukraine Alain Aeschlimann, the ombudswoman’s press service reported on Thursday.
“Today, DPR ombudswoman Darya Morozova met with an ICRC representative,” the press service said. “In the beginning of the meeting Alain Aeschlimann said that it was his last visit in the current capacity and that he would continue his work in Ukraine and Donbass as an ICRC donor countries representative.”
The parties discussed the DPR ombudswoman’s work with the ICRC in implementing social and humanitarian programmes to support different groups of the population as well as the results of the humanitarian subgroup’s work at the Minsk talks. Morozova said that Kiev officials had been blocking the subgroup’s work and that they did not want to begin the search for the missing persons in accordance with the ICRC road map.
“The DPR ombduswoman asked the head of the ICRC Mission in Ukraine to help resolve this issue for the sake of showing humanity to the relatives of the missing persons and easing their suffering,” the press service said.
At the end of the meeting Morozova passed a copy of her 2018 report to Aeschlimann and thanked him for cooperation and joint fruitful work.*jk
