DPR ombudswoman hands in awards to ICRC staff, discusses prisoner exchange

Donetsk, Sep 12 - DAN. Donetsk People’s Republic ombudswoman Darya Morozova met with Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mission in Ukraine Alain Aeschlimann and ICRC Donetsk Office deputy head Arnaud Meffre on Wednesday, the ombudswoman’s office press service said.

“At the beginning of the meeting, the ICRC representatives expressed their condolences on the tragic death of DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko,” the press service said.

The parties discussed the results of the latest meeting of the humanitarian subgroup in Minsk. Morozova drew the ICRC officials' attention to the destructive position taken by Ukraine which she said was creating obstacles to new prisoner exchange. They also considered a draft road map towards returning documents to former detainees released from Ukrainian captivity.

In conclusion, Morozova handed in the certificates of commendation to the ICRC officials "for humanitarian work for DPR residents.” *jk
