Donetsk, Dec 12 - DAN. A DPR mountaineering team has completed the ascent on Africa’s highest mountain Kilimanjaro, the Republic’s Youth, Sport and Tourism Ministry press service told Donetsk News Agency on Tuesday.
“Today, the DPR mountaineering team led by Mountaineering Federation president Oleg Paliya conquered Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest peak,” the press service said.
The Donetsk People’s Republic flag was placed on top of the mountain, it added.
The Republic has been running the project DPR Flag on World Mountain Peaks since 2015. DPR mountain climbers have hoisted the Republic’s flags on Europe’s tallest mountain Elbrus, the 5,000-metre high Kazbek mountain in the Caucasus, the Aconcagua in Argentina and the Lenin Peak in Kyrgyzstan.
