Donetsk, Jul 18 - DAN. DPR Youth, Sports and Tourism Ministry carried out 32 events as part of the Donbass people reunification humanitarian programme, which were attended by some 350 residents of Kiev-controlled part of Donetsk Region, an official told reporters on Tuesday.

“The Youth, Sports and Tourism Ministry carried out 32 public sport and youth events from 17 February through 17 July 2017, as part of the humanitarian programme for Donbass people reunification,” First Deputy Minister for  Youth, Sports and Tourism Alexander Gromakov said.

The events were attended by some 350 residents of Kiev-controlled part of Donetsk Region. The greatest interest in the sport and youth events was shown by residents of Volnovakha district, Mariupol, Kramatorsk and Artyomovsk.

On February 17, DPR and LPR Heads Alexander Zakharchenko and Igor Plotnitskiy launched the Donbass people reunification programme.

The main objective is to support socially vulnerable groups of the population. It provides for medical and financial assistance, quotas for higher and vocational education  and sport and public events to preserve spiritual and cultural values in which residents of Kiev-controlled territory are welcome to take part.*jk
