Donetsk, Mar 19 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic has suspended all cultural and entertainment events in its territory starting March 20 as part of preventive measures against COVID-19.

“All theatre performances and cultural and entertainments events at enterprises and organisations subordinate to the DPR Culture Ministry are prohibited starting March 20 until further notice,” according to order No 128-OD published at the DPR Culture Ministry website on Thursday.

The document orders to reschedule the above events to the period following stabilisation of the situation. The cultural organisations executives have to step up the disinfection of places with large presence of visitors and personnel, monitor personnel’s body temperature and assist those showing symptoms of fever in going in self-imposed quarantine at home.

The document also cancels trips abroad planned by cultural organisations personnel. The education institutions subordinate to the Culture Ministry have to switch to online leaning and cancel all public events.

Culture centres at town and district administrations have to cancel local cultural, entertainment and education events and step up sanitary and preventive measures.

On March 14, DPR Head Denis Pushilin put the Republic on high alert in connection with the threat of coronavirus infection. The persons arriving from COVID-19 affected countries such as Ukraine, China, Spain, Italy, Iran, Korea, France and Germany are ordered to go into 14 day self-imposed quarantine at home from the date of arrival.

As of now, the DPR has not recorded any COVID-19 cases.*jk
