Donetsk, Jul 1 - DAN. The Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic resumed railway service after the lifting of border crossing restrictions which were introduced against the coronavirus infection in the spring of 2020, the Donetsk Railways press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“A train ran from Yasinovataya to Lugansk today reopening the railway link between the Donbass Republics,” the press service said.
Earlier reports said that passenger trains would run along this route every day all year round. The Republics limited railway traffic in the spring of 2020 as part of the lockdown measures. The restrictions were lifted on June 19. Last week reports said that the authorities had resumed the bus service between Torez and Lugansk.*jk
