Debaltsevo, Sep 3 - DAN. Cross-border traffic between the Donbass Republics which was halted against the threat of COVID-19 spread will resume in the nearest future, Donetsk People’s Republic Head Denis Pushilin said at a meeting with Debaltsevo residents on Thursday.
“I believe we’ll be able to open the border (with the LPR - eds Donetsk News Agency) in the nearest future,” Pushilin said. “Specialists are still working at it; I ordered our Foreign Ministry to resolve some fine points but they are at the final stage already, so the issue will be settled shortly.”
The are four motor vehicle checkpoints on the DPR-LPR border: “Debaltsevo,” “Snezhnoye,” “Nikishino” and “M-03 Motorway 759th Kilometre.” All of them suspended operation in connection with the threat of spread of novel coronavirus infection.
On March 14, the DPR went on high alert against COVID-19. Restrictions on customs control points operation on the contact line with Kiev remain in effect. The DPR’s border with Russia was opened in July.*jk
