Donetsk, May 30 — DAN. DPR has finalized the construction and launched a pipeline to feed the regional water reservoir, DPR Emergencies Minister Andrei Kostrubitskiy said.
«We are now using backup sources — water reservoirs, but they tend to dry up, that’s why we developed a comprehensive plan for maintenance of our canal (Seversky Donets — Donbass). We are pumping water from multiple sources, » he said.
The pipeline is more than 2 km long, test launched on Sunday May 29, it is already being filled.
DPR faces water shortages since February when Ukrainian shelling left key water facilities damaged.
Some townships are surviving without water at all, other localities suffer shortages and supply water on schedule. Makeyevka residents receive water once in three days.
More than a hundred experts from Russia took part in the new pipeline construction. *ot
