Donetsk, Jun 27 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic has begun an extensive upgrade of the Yelenovka crossing point infrastructure, DPR deputy prime minister Vladimir Pashkov said on Thursday.
“An interdepartmental commission was set up to draw a schedule of works to be carried out simultaneously at all the four crossing points (at the contact line on the edge of Kiev-held territory - eds Donetsk News Agency),” Pashkov said. “We have launched the works at the Yelenovka crossing point. The project aims to increase the throughput capacity by five times.”
“At present, we’re procuring pre-fabricated office rooms, computers, equipment and construction materials. We plan to complete the works by the autumn, he added.
Earlier, DPR parliament speaker Vladimir Bidyovka said that significant infrastructure changes had been planned at the Alexandrovka and Yekenovka crossing points. The initiative to stablise the Donbass contact line crossing at checkpoints had been brought forward by DPR Head Denis Pushilin.*jk
