Donetsk, May 30 - DAN. Torezantratsit state-owned enterprise launched a new coal face at the Lutugin mine on Tuesday, the DPR Coal and Energy Ministry press service reported.

“A government commission approved the working face; specialists did not find any faults in safety arrangements,” a Ministry official said.

It will provide steady work for miners for the next 18 months, he added.

The coal face is 250 meters long and 1.1 meters thick. Its reserves are estimated at 750,000 tons. Daily output is expected at 1,400 tons of coal.

Earlier, DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko announced coal-mining companies’ plans to launch eight to 12 coal faces this year. Torezantratsit launched the first coal face in 2017 at its Progress mine.*jk
