Donetsk, Mar 14 - DAN. The Donetsk National Academic Musical and Drama Theatre on Thursday hosted an event marking the Donetsk People’s Republic Housing and Utilities Sector Worker’s Day.
Some 700 people gathered in the hall including deputy parliament speaker Olga Makeyeva, DPR Construction and Housing and Utilities Minister Sergey Naumets and district and town administration officials.
Naumets read DPR Head Denis Pushilin’s message which said that the Republic appreciated the courage, spirit and professionalises of housing and utilities workers who risked their lives to restore service lines damaged by shelling. “DPR residents see the results of your difficult work every day. We thank you for your efforts,” Pushilin said.
A medal, a badge, a commendation from DPR Head and five letters of acknowledgement from the parliament speaker were handed in to the best workers.
A show by the leading theatre artists followed by ceremony.
Earlier on Thursday, Donetsk residents laid flowed to the memorial to the housing and utilities sector staff killed in the line of duty.
The DPR marks Housing and Utilities Worker's Day on the third Sunday in March every year. In 2019, the holiday falls on March 17.*jk*pp
