Donetsk, May 7 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic Youth Parliament met for its first session on Tuesday.
DPR Head Denis Pushilin, parliament speaker Vladimir Bidyovka, head of the Donetsk Republic social movement Central Executive Committee Alexei Muratov and Youth Parliament deputies met at the Government House session hall.
“It didn’t take long to realise the idea to set up the Youth Parliament which will begin full-fledged work in the near future,” Pushilin said. “You’re the 1st Youth Parliament deputies which always implies special responsibility and total dedication.”
He said that the deputies were facing such challenges as shaping the youth policy, succession planning and promoting self-fulfilment of young people.
“You are shaping the future of our state with your own hands and have to be guided by the principles of justice, equality and people’s power. You’re making your first steps in the parliamentary system, and I wish you success,” Pushilin said.
The DPR Youth Parliament comprises 50 people. The speaker will be elected by secret ballot shortly.
The elections to the DPR Youth Parliament ran at 54 voting stations across the Republic on April 16-24. More than 440 observers, including Russian and LPR representatives, monitored the voting.*jk
