Donetsk, Apr 20 – DAN. The DPR residents have planted birch saplings as a part of the urban amenities upgrade efforts.

The trees were planted on the Alley of Soldiers' Widows in the Donetsk park of Leninskiy Komsomol.

The DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko took part in the initiative together with the deputy chairmen of the Council of Ministers Dmitry Trapeznikov and Alexander Timofeyev, acting head of the capital's administration Alexey Kulezmin, social activists and the city residents.

"The program of green landscaping adopted in principle provides for planting over 10,000 saplings," Zakharchenko said.

On Friday, 50 birches have been planted to be followed by similar events in Telmanovskiy and Starobeshevskiy districts.

A two-months-improvement public campaign is in place across the DPR. Traditional Subbotnik to clean streets and courtyards took place on March 31 joining 70 thousand people all over the DPR. The next one is scheduled for April 21. *ot
