Donetsk, Jun 19 - DAN. DPR Head Alexander Zakharchenko signed a degree on pension increase from July 1.
“To raise the social standards for Donetsk People’s Republic pensioners, I hereby order a 10-percent increase in pensions from July 1, 2018,” according to the document published on the Republic’s official website.
The decree came into force on the date of signing on June 13. It does not apply to the retirement benefits endorsed by the DPR leader on October 27, 2017, i.e. the retired DPR military and members of their families are not eligible for pension pay rise.
The Republic increased pension payments twice last year. In the beginning of 2017, the minimum pension increased to 2,600 rubles. In October, DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko ordered to increase pensions by 5 percent. In December 2017, acting DPR Labour and Social Policy Ministry Larisa Tolstykina said that the minimum monthly retirement benefit would increase from 2,730 rubles to 2,904 rubles from January 2018.*jk
