Donetsk, Jan 16 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic has some 60 print media, the Republic’s acting Information Minister Igor Antipov told Donetsk News Agency.
“As for newspapers, we have about 60; of those 20 are state-owned publications, the rest are commercial,” the minister said.
He underlined that the current number of newspapers was insufficient and that DPR needed at least 150 print media to meet the Republic’s readership demand.
“In pre-war period in 2013, the former Donetsk Region had some 300 newspapers with sizable print runs,” Antipov said. “At the present time, an increase is absolutely imperative.”
Advertisement in DPR-based print media increased 12 to 17 percent in 2017, according to the minister. *jk
