DPR files 5.5 thousand cases on casualties with ICC and ECHR

Donetsk, Sep 30 – DAN. A DPR social organization Fair Defense has sent over 5.5 thousand files on victims of Kiev’s aggression against Donbass to the ICC and the ECHR since February 2018, the representative of the organization Ivan Kopyl told DAN in an exclusive interview.

“As of today, we have filed 1,789 cases to the IC, of those 1,571 concern adults and 167 – underage, 51 cover tortures and violence. We have filed 3,643 complaints with the ECHR, 797 of those were sent this year.”

The public committee on recording Kiev forces’ war crimes was launched in mid-2015. Criminal and law experts aim to gather data on the crimes the Ukrainian armed forces committed in Donbass. The committee registered as an organization in February 2018 and adopted the name of Fair Defense social organization. *ot
