Donetsk, Oct 5 – DAN. The DPR People's Council has adopted a law exempting families of persons, killed while defending the Republic, from paying utility bills.
The law was adopted by 77 votes of DPR deputies.
"The draft law was developed to enhance legislation in social sphere towards a just social state," said acting representative of the DPR Head in the People's Council Andrey Vanin.
He said that the Law On Social Protection of Families of DPR Residents Killed While Defending the Republic exempts such families from paying utility bills even though their deceased bread winners had no military status.
One member of such a family is eligible for the benefit.
One of the MPs, Alexander Kurenkov, told journalists that the draft law was initiated by the DPR Interim Head Denis Pushilin. According to Kurenkov, in future a law may be adopted introducing the same benefit for the families of the military. *ot
