Donetsk, May 29 – DAN. DPR Emergencies Ministry explosive remnants of war disposal teams deactivated over 9,000 explosive objects this year, the ministry said.
“Bomb disposal teams of the Emergencies Ministry have been alarmed more than 800 times since the beginning of the year, and rendered safe more than 9,000 explosive objects, explored 600 ha of territory, 250 km of highways.”
Currently engineers are carrying out deliberate mine-clearance of agricultural fields in Solntsevo of the Starobeshevo district. So far, seven UXO have been exploded.
The DPR Emergencies Ministry explosive ordnance disposal technicians regularly search for and deactivate explosive remnants of war, such as mines planted by the enemy, UXO and other objects.
ERW pose a serious risk for population, sometimes many decades after they were used or discarded.
