Donetsk, Nov 29 - DAN. The crossing points in the Donetsk People’s Republic operate as usual following the introduction of martial law in Ukraine, the DPR State Security Ministry (MGB) said on Thursday.

“The MGB Borderguard Service operates in the usual mode, there are no plans to change the state border crossing procedure,” the MGB said in a statement.

Borderguard Service personnel are “ready for any provocations on the part of Ukraine,” it said.

On November 26, Ukraine’s Verkhovnaya Rada (parliament) approved the bill to introduce martial law in ten regions of the country. The list comprises the provinces bordering on Russia and Transniestria, the Kiev-controlled parts of the DPR and the LPR and Sea of Azov and Black Sea coast areas. Martial law in Ukraine will be effective for 30 days.

DPR authorities believe that the measure might mount tensions in the conflict zone.

Martial law is imposed across Ukraine or some of its areas in accordance with the law “On the Legal Regime of Martial Law” to provide military authorities and leadership with unlimited power.*jk
