Donetsk, Aug 9 - DAN. The Donetsk People’s Republic traffic safety department has finished mandatory re-registration of vehicles; the drivers who have failed to complete the procedure will be fined, the Republic’s Interior Ministry press service said on Thursday.

“The DPR Traffic Safety Inspectorate carried out the registration of vehicles from January through July 2018. The persons who have failed to complete the procedure will pay a fine,” the Interior Ministry said.

The persons caught driving an unregistered vehicle will be fined 340 to 510 rubles. Reoffenders will be fined 510 to 1,020 rubles. In both cases the unregistered vehicle will be taken to the impound lot.

The car registration documents and license plates issued by Ukrainian bodies are not impounded except for the cases where a vehicle is re-registered to the new owner.*jk
