Donetsk, Aug 24 – DAN. DPR Intelligence has established that over 80 Ukrainian servicemen of the border service left the army since the beginning of 2018 and settled in Crimea, said DPR Operations Command deputy commander Eduard Basurin.

"Currently, the 23rd Mariupol maritime protection unit of the Ukrainian border service is only 74 percent staffed. Over 80 border guards left service in 2018 and 67 of them relocated to Crimea and applied for the Russian citizenship to join Russian border service later," he said.

Basurin said two dozen of other service members would like to follow their example. Border guards say that Russia provides mush better social benefits for the military. *ot
