Donetsk, May 24 – DAN. Students studying electric engineering at Donetsk National Technical University showcased their demining robot at the International scientific forum in Donbass.

The robot can perform distant mining clearance in the areas under shelling.

"This is a demo model Morrigan. If necessary, we can reinforce Morrigan, upgrade its passage and moving capacities. The software, original construction and our determination to improve the system, everything is in place. We want our sapper to become an efficient assistant in mine clearing," said one of the engineers of the robot Arsen Burmistrov.

Mini-sapper Morrigan fits in a palm. During the presentation at the Forum "Innovation in Donbass Perspective:

Infrastructural and Socio-Economic Development" the robot found simulation mines and booby-traps right on the floor, notifying of his findings with a sound signal. Inductive sensors and hose-clamps are incorporated into the robot's construction.

Overall, nearly two thousand documents and models developed by of DPR scientific and educational institutions were showcased at today's forum.*ot
