Donetsk, May 9 – DAN. A military parade commemorating the 72nd anniversary of World War II Victory Day is taking place in central Donetsk on Tuesday.

The parade had started off with a march of DPR militiamen, law-enforcement personnel and military college students. An L-29 trainer plane is displayed for the first time.

DPR Operations Command chief Major-General Denis Sinenkov is in command of the parade. The Republic’s Defence Minister Lieutenant-General Vladimir Kononov inspected the parade.

DPR head Alexander Zakharchenko and People’s Council Chairman Denis Pushilin are attending the Victory Day celebration.

Central Donetsk is closed to traffic due to the festivities. More than 1,000 law-enforcers are on hand to watch law and order, and ambulances and Emergencies Ministry teams are on standby in public places. *jk
