Donetsk, Feb 12 – DAN. DPR Emergencies Ministry teams are responding to a possible bomb threat at the monument to Comrade Artyom in central Donetsk, the district administration head Vladislav Latyntsev said.
"There are some suspicions (that the monument has been mined). A slab of the foundation has been lifted and moved aside. In the evening everything was fine, but in the morning, at around 8.30 a.m. community workers noticed the changes."
DAN correspondents say that the site has been cordoned off by the police; approximately 20 first responders are present at the scene and are examining the monument and removing the slabs. The Chairman of the People's Council Vladimir Bidyevka is also present.
A rally was expected to gather by the Comrade Artyom monument at 10 a.m. today to commemorate the 102nd anniversary of the Donets-Krivoy Rog Republic proclamation. *ot
