Donetsk, May 31 — DAN. Donetsk mayor Alexey Kulemzin has ordered to restrict alcohol sales in certain venues whose boundaries will be set by a special commission.

Alcohol sales by food catering outlets in these venues will be prohibited as well, said Kulemzin’s instruction signed on Tuesday.

In Russia, a ban is in effect on alcohol sales in the vicinity of social, medical and education facilities, churches and sport centers. The permissible distance to retail outlets that sell alcoholic beverages is determined by local authorities.

The Donetsk commission will be headed by Kulemzin’s deputy Maxim Sukhorukov. It includes municipal officials, business people, school directors and activists from all city districts.*jk
