Donetsk, August 15 - DAN. The Donbass Blacksmiths Guild social organisation arranged free tours of the Forged Figures Park in Donetsk starting from early August, Guild Secretary Yevgeny Lavrinenko told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“Forged Figures Park tours have been available on a Blacksmiths Guild initiative since early August,” Lavrinenko said. “Visitors come to learn about the Park history and development and see the key pieces.”
The project author is Viktor Burduk, the long-time blacksmith community leader. Free one-hour tours are offered to adults on Saturdays. The group gathers at the “Blacksmith” composition behind the city administration building, he added.
“It’s not possible to tell about all displayed items within an hour, so we can only cover the major facts. We also tell about amusing situations that occurred in the Park and the legends associated with the place,” Lavrinenko said.
The Forged (Wrought Iron) Figures Park in Donetsk is located in the city’s Voroshilovskiy district. Unveiled in August 2001, it is currently the only Park of this format in Europe featuring 223 exhibits, not counting small-sized works.*jk*pp
