Donetsk, Apr 23 – DAN. The first night after the Donetsk Water Treatment Plant (DFS) relaunch was quiet, no incident occurred in the vicinity of the plant, the Ministry of Construction and Public Utilities said.

"The night in the vicinity of the DFS was quiet, no shelling was reported."
Security situation remains the same, the ministry said. The plant continues operation as normal.

"The OSCE monitors take part in escorting the plant's staff."

The DFS resumed operation by 3.30 p.m. Sunday. Despite ceasefire violations which ocured in the area, the re-launch process went uninterrupted.

Ukrainian forces opened fire on a convoy carrying Donetsk Water Treatment Plant (DFS) personnel on April 17, wounding five people. The Voda Donbassa state water company adopted a decision to evacuate the remaining personnel from the station, to shut it down and to mothball the facility for five days. The station was stopped in the evening April 18.

The DFS supplies water to both sides of the contact line: DPR-controlled Donetsk, Yasinovataya, the Vasilyevka and Spartak villages, parts of Makeyevka, and Kiev-controlled Avdeyevka, Krasnogorovka and the Verkhnetoretskoye villages. The overall number of its customers exceeds 400 thousand. *ot
