Donetsk, May 24 - DAN. The Donetsk Water Treatment plant (DFS) is operating in a normal mode; no strikes at the area have been recorded, the DPR Construction, Housing and Utilities Ministry press service told the Donetsk News Agency on Thursday.
“The DFS operates as usual; the situation around the facility is calm; no strikes has been recorded,” the press service said.
The Joint Centre for Control and Coordination (JCCC) confirmed that the area had not come under fire.
The DFS resumed operation on Wednesday afternoon after a three-day standstill. A strike by Ukrainian forces had caused an outage at the DFS. As tensions heightened in the area, a proposal was brought forward at the Minsk talks to make the area a new zone of disengagement of forces and hardware in order to stabilise the situation. However, Ukraine rejected the idea.
The DFS is located outside Yasinovataya and feeds water to both sides of the contact line. The number of DFS customers exceeds 400,000.*jk
