Donetsk, Sep 5 - DAN. The blast at the Skochinsky coal mine in Donetsk occurred on the premises of the non-operating laboratory for testing explosives, the Donetsk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry press service said on Thursday.

“It occurred near the non-operating explosives laboratory at the state-owned Skochinsky mine in Donetsk, Kirov district, Biryuzova Street at around 09:00, on September 4; supposedly it was a blast of industrial explosives,” the press service said.

The blast ruined one of the two buildings of the laboratory and damaged two parked cars.

Earlier reports said an explosion in the Skochinsky mine area in Donetsk’s frontline district killed an employee. A commission involving representatives of the DPR Coal and Energy Ministry, the Emergencies Ministry and the State Mining and Technology Supervision Committee (Gortekhnadzor) was set up look into the accident.*jk
