Donetsk, Jul 12 – DAN. Donbass Development Center (DDC) humanitarian mission distributed shopping vouchers for basic necessities worth 3,000 RUR each to 4,600 residents of Dokuchaevsk who found themselves in difficult financial circumstances.
"Donbass Development Center together with benefactors has completed the voucher program having distributed shopping vouchers for basic necessities worth 3,000 RUR each to 4,600 residents of Dokuchaevsk, including internally displaced persons, low income families with children, pensioners with minimal income, orphans, people with chronic deceases," Donbass Development Center reported.
The program was launched on June 1. Owners of the vouchers could choose the necessary products and basic necessities in the stores which joined the program. Alcohol, tobacco products, household appliances and contraception means were excluded from the list of goods available in exchange for vouchers.
"The point was that people could purchase short-life products not included in humanitarian aid kits such as meat, milk, cottage cheese. It was very important for people with deceases who have to keep diet," said the Center chairwoman Anastasia Khmelnitskaya.
The Donbass Development Center was established in 2015, and has been registered in DPR as a humanitarian organization. Its volunteers deliver aid to hospitals, schools, organize learning courses, participate in developing infrastructure repairs projects, relief efforts. *ot
