Donetsk, Aug 6 - DAN. Eighty-five people who have come to the Donetsk People’s Republic from Ukraine since June 25, 2020, tested positive for coronavirus infection, the DPR Healthcare Ministry reported on Thursday.

“As of August 6, coronavirus infection was found in 85 people who have arrived from Ukraine since June 25, 2020,” the report said.

All the patients were taken to DPR specialised medical centres and are receiving treatment free of charge.

The DPR suspended the operation of the crossing points on the contact line in March to prevent the import of the coronavirus infection. The Yelenovka crossing point was opened for exiting the DPR on June 22 and for entering on June 25.

Overall, the humanitarian corridor was opened ten times. The Yelenovka crossing point last reopened on August 3; more than 180 people crossed the contact line at the time.

The requirement for exiting the DPR is registration in Ukraine-held territory;  visitors to the Republic must have their names on the list approved by the DPR COVID-19 crisis headquarters. All the arrivals from Ukraine are required to go into  free two-week observation.*jk
