Yasinovataya, Dec 6 - DAN. Construction workers completed basic repairs of the apartment house in Yasinovataya outskirts which had been worst hit by Ukrainian army fire. The workers restored all the nine stories of the building, insulated its frontage and installed engineering lines.
Doors and windows were installed in all apartments in the repaired section of the building. Works are now being completed on the engineering story. “There will be no delays, repairs are ongoing,” acting town administration head Oleg Morgun told Donetsk News Agency.
The project currently employs an 18-strong team. Part of the damaged building had to be torn down to the foundation and rebuilt; the old layout has remained intact.
House No 19 is located in Zorka neighbourhood by the northern gateway to the city facing Donetsk-Gorlovka motorway. It has two entrance halls. Workers said the tenants of the intact part of the building stayed at their places for the period of repairs. About half of the apartments had been uninhabitable.
Ukrainian army began to shell Yasinovataya in summer 2014. The town’s housing and infrastructure sustained significant damage. The Zorka neighbourhood house took several direct hits from Ukrainian artillery and multiple launch rocket systems in August. One third of the building was fully destroyed. *jk
