Donetsk, Feb 10 – DAN. Some 52,000 DPR residents have signed the petition to Russian, US and German leaders Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Angela Merkel, the Republic’s parliament press service told Donetsk News Agency on Friday.

“As of 3:00 p.m. on 10 February, some 52,000 signatures have been collected in support of the joint appeal by the DPR and LPR parliaments speakers to the leaders of Russia, the USA and Germany,” the press service said.

Deputy speaker Olga Makeyeva said the signature collection campaign is meant to urge the leaders of three leading countries to acknowledge that the incumbent Ukrainian government is continuing the military terror against civilians while ignoring the Minsk agreements.

“We are grateful to all residents who supported the initiative by the parliaments of the two republics and signed the petition. Who else but we should tell about the horrible genocide carried out in our land by the Ukrainian government which illegitimately came to power as a result of government overthrow. It is only through joint effort that we can draw attention to Donbass fate,” the parliament’s press service quoted her as saying.

On 31 January, DPR and LPR People’s Councils chairmen Denis Pushilin and Vladimir Degtyarenko brought forward a joint petition to Russian President Vladimir Putin, U.S. President Donald Trump and German Chancellor Angela Merkel asking them to make Ukrainian leadership stop the Donbass genocide. *jk
