Donetsk, Oct 1 - DAN. More than three dozen structures have been damaged or destroyed in fires that occurred in Makeyevka, Shakhtyorsk and Debaltsevo over the past 24 hours, the Donetsk People’s Republic Emergencies Ministry press service reported on Thursday.

“A fire occurred in Chelyuskintsev Street, Nizhnyaya Krynka neighbourhood, in Makeyevka’s Sovetskiy district, on September 30,” the report said. “It destroyed eight non-residential houses and dry vegetation on an area of 85 hectares and damaged one dwelling house.”

A fire in Shakhtyorsk’s neighbourhood Kantarnoye damaged three houses in Pervomaiskaya Street and destroyed three non-residential rundown houses, three summer kitchens and five utility sheds in Nagornaya Street.

In the Kommunar neighbourhood in Debaltsevo, a wildfire destoryed five non-residential houses, three utility sheds, dry grass on an area of 50 hectares and leaf litter in deciduous forest on a area of 10 hectares.

Wildfires were recorded in the Zuyevskiy landscape park in the Khartsyzsk area and the Sevastyanovka ecosite in the Amvrosiyevka district.

Over the past 24 hours, DPR Emergencies Ministry firefighters have extinguished 154 fires including 76 grass fires across the Republic.

On Wednesday, the Emergencies Ministry reported adverse weather conditions in the DPR caused by high content of dust in the atmosphere and strong wind gusts.  Dust storms might continue till the end of the week, according to weather forecasts.*jk
