Donetsk, Nov 9 — DAN. Some 29,000 residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic have joined the pilot project for pension recalculation where personal data can be submitted by phone, the regional Social Fund Department told the Donetsk News Agency.
Earlier reports said that Russian retirement benefits had been granted to nearly half of DPR pensioners.
Pension recalculation under Russian norms was launched in the new regions on March 1, 2023.The transition period deadline is February 29, 2024, but the Russian Labor Ministry is preparing to push it to yearend.
Those who are not yet eligible for pension recalculation or have not obtained Russian citizenship continue to receive pensions under DPR laws. These payments are now handled by the regional Social Fund which operates 38 offices across the DPR.*jk
