Donetsk, Feb 9 – DAN. Almost 22,000 resident s of the Donetsk People’s Republic signed the petition to the Russian, US and German leaders asking them to influence Kiev and to stop genocide of Donbass people, DPR People’s Council press service told Donetsk News Agency.

“Signature collection in support of the appeal to the Russian, German and US leaders is continuing across DPR. As of 8 February, the petition was signed by 21,901 DPR residents,” the press service said.

The campaign started in all DPR settlements on 31 January, following joint address by DPR and LPR People’s Councils’ chairmen Denis Pushilin and Vladimir Degtyarenko to the leaders of those countries.

The Donbass conflict escalated in late January as Ukrainian forces attacked DPR on all axes. Dozens of DPR civilians and militiamen were killed and wounded in the latest Kiev offensive, and infrastructure facilities and residential houses in the Republic’s towns and villages were damaged. *jk
